Food consumption , US vs India and rising global food prices

In a recent speech the US president George Bush commented about the Indian middle class for causing the food price hike in US. According to Bush the dilemma occurred when Indian middle class starts demanding better nutritious food.

But the real case scenario is different and the allegation is baseless.
A US citizen consumes 990kg of food per Annam ,which is five times ,than that consumed by an average Indian(less than 300kg).
Bush has hidden the fact of using agricultural land for biodiesel raw materials.
The Bush comments seems to be ignoring all the facts and is ridiculous and is technique behind is to increase his image among the citizens .
